Sociology II

I SMS-ed some of my friends today -- mostly out of boredom -- to tell them that Channel U was filming our sociology lecture, to which HW (ever the cynic) predictably replied: "So wayang. Nice LT then they go shoot. Never see them shoot the lousy ones."

***

Dr. T: "I like this LT. I can see up to the last person (in the back). I can even see his eyeball!"

***

Dr. T: "The reason why you see men with many wives, but not women with many husbands, is because of the Teapot Theory: One teapot, many teacups. I mean, why would a teacup need to have many teapots, right?"

(Some groans.)

Dr. T (oblivious): "Why is no one laughing? Do you get it? Or are you all just slow today? By the way, this Teapot Theory is not sociology -- it's common sense."

***

Dr. T: "In the US, their culture is such that their parents always try to kick them out. That's why you get so many youngsters living on their own. Over here, adolescence can drag on for quite long. In men, it can be as long as 25 years."

***

Dr. T: "The feminist perspective is that a woman's role in marriage is to act as a safety valve which absorbs her husband's frustration. Why 'valve'? I leave it up to your imagination."

(More groans.)
