Christmas snippets

Among other things, this time of the year always gives me the opportunity to catch up with old friends, and sometimes, to meet new ones; both bring me incredible joy. During the semester, it's difficult to have a nice dinner without the weight of undone work at the back of my mind; I like not having to wear a watch out, sipping lavender tea after souffle, reminiscing about times past, and sharing dreams about the future -- until we lose track of time and have to be chased out! ;)

I've never been one for big parties, but gatherings of close friends and family -- that I can manage very well, thank you. :) Oh, especially when the boys end up losing games and having to do forfeits such as this:

(Sorry, HW, that was too priceless to not post!)

Before our Christmas BBQ...

HW: "Can you prepare more ice for tomorrow?"

Me: "I think we'd better buy. I only have one ice tray."

HW: "That's just... UNBELIEVABLE."

Me: "What?"

HW: "You have THREE refrigerators, but only ONE ice tray?!"

Me: "..."

Well, yes, I'm aware of the irony. Shut up.

What's Christmas without little children screaming and toys being strewn all around? Yeah, family traditions, go figure.

Also, I was going to bake a cake for dinner tonight, but the Cold Storage near my place was absolutely packed. Cars were double-parked, people were honking, and three of the ingredients on my list were sold out! It was sheer last-minute craziness. Good thing I walked; "good" until it started raining on my way back, that is. Ho ho ho.

This Christmas, I wish you all the love, joy, peace, and hope in the world, and that you may have loved ones by your side to share them with. But most of all, I wish you Jesus. :)

***
I could wish you joy and peace to last a whole life long
I could wish you sunshine or a cheerful little song
Or wish you all the happiness that this life could bring
But I wish you Jesus more than anything

I could wish you leaves of gold and that your path be smooth
I could wish you treasures or that all your dreams come true
And I could wish you paradise, that every day be spring
But when I wish you Jesus, I've wished you everything

i wanted to say this before but kept forgetting: the image of your lavender tea looks terribly enticing; almost bandung-like. sigh.

hope you've had a great holiday too.:)

Thanks, all. Hope you guys had a wonderful Christmas! ;)

ABoY, eck, can't say I'm too fond of bandung, but the lavender tea was heavenly, especially the aroma it served up over long talks. :)
