Everything

Me: "Ace sang really well tonight! And he's so handsome!"

M: "His hair looks horrible." (I'm paraphrasing.)

Me: "I like it! He can do anything with his hair and I'll still like it!"

M: "Crazy woman."

Me: "..."

Oh, and my Top Five's still intact, although I haven't really been watching much.

So, some things:

  • We thought it'd be a straight write-off, but apparently not, or not yet. Estimated damages currently stand at $42,000. We'll see how it goes.
  • The students' union gave out "exam welfare packs" yesterday. Among other things, we were given Campbell's soup which expires in a month's time, and Teenage magazine -- the February issue of, that is (and that's on top of the fact that we're not within the target age demographic). But we did get useful stationery, like pens, highlighters, flags, and post-its, even if they were sponsored by SDU.
  • We're having this extra-curricular session for my human resource module where we're conducting a mock interview. Due to something I'd like to dismiss as The Unfortunate Incident some weeks ago, I've earned myself the reputation as one of those cut-throat, ruthless types, so I've been nominated to sit on the interview panel. When I posted about my rogue dentist some time ago, someone mentioned that I should've asked around for recommendations -- you know, make full use of the blogging platform, that kinda thing. So, dear reader, what are the most common and/or most difficult interview questions you've had? :) Don't worry, I'm not getting any extra credit for this, so you're not helping me do my homework. (I only wish you could!)
  • I got a 95% on my Crazyfrog essay. Um. Yeah. Don't ask, I don't know how it happened either. If only such pleasant surprises happened more often, and in my engineering modules! :)

Re difficult interview questions: easy! just follow this sequence.
1. Do you see yourself in my shoes one day? [he/she will have to answer "yes"]
2. How long do you think you will take? [to shake him/her up a little]
3. [whatever answer he/she gives, give that condescending exhale-air-snort]
4. What makes you think so?

Definitely intimidates!

ouch, 42K? it certainly puts into perspective the damage done - again so glad that no one was hurt.

(saw the letter in the forum, wonder what The Police will say. hmm.)

as for interview questions - i know this is standard, but i hate this question --> Where do you see yourself in 5 years' time? most ppl have an answer, I don't. (maybe you'll understand why. =))

Woof!: I'm actually trying to shed the Dragon Lady image, ahem. But those are very intimidating questions. I hope I never get them, eep. :p

a l: What sharp eyes you have! :p There'll be a reply by the TP in the papers today. ;) I'll email you about what happened -- it's quite interesting, really. ;) And that's one interview question that I have no answer to either, although I probably do know the answer that they're looking for. So -- the dilemma -- the truth and nothing but the truth? Because the truth is that I don't know a lot of things.

KoP: Hopefully there won't be a next time! ;) Insurance is all good, except that it may take a long time to claim; you know how these things go. Eh, how is collapsing inwards going to protect the passengers if they are inside?! Haha. But our car is one-year old (I know, more heartache), the $42,000 is less than half of the market price, so you can understand why my dad isn't in favour of a write-off. Unless the investigation pushes the cost of damages up, of course. :p As for that interview question, I don't know how people manage these unrehearsed. Give me half a day to prepare and I may be able to come up with something decent. But yeah, that's always a good question, if nothing else, to see what kind of preparation the interviewees have done. ;)
